What will in-person camp look like?

In-person Summer Camp 2021 for ages 6-8
(Students entering Grade 1 to 3 in September)

​Our Summer Camp is an indoor educational based program with caring and engaging JEI Teachers. This modified summer camp will be anything but boring!

Children will participate in hands-on activities surrounding a variety of professional career pathways. Children will also have the opportunity to meet via virtual setting: 

  • Talented bakers from Daan Go Cake Lab

  • Dr. Chawla from Richmond Hill Optometric Clinic

  • Chef Justin from Azyun Restaurant

  • Local business owners who will share their experiences with our students!

  • Daily Schedule:

    • 9:00-9:30am Physical/movement activities 

    • 9:30-10:30am Outdoor activities at Richmond Gree Park (weather permitting)

    • 11:00-12:00pm Lesson & project

    • 12:00-1:00pm In-door lunch

    • 1:00-3:00pm Lesson & project

Camp Details

  • Exclusive Camp Pod limited to 20 students. 

  • Whenever possible, physical distancing will practiced (including during recess/lunch times)

  • Our curriculum will shift from group activities to individual activities

  • Daily pickup/drop-off will occur at designated classroom door (waiting room will not be available).

  • Daily temperature checks

  • Materials and shared surfaces will be sanitized regularly, according to York Public Health guidelines.

  • Participants will be required to wash their hands frequently (between activities and at the beginning and end of the day).

  •  Teachers and students will be wearing face covering at all times.

  • In-person camp will run 9:00 am – 3:00 pm. 

  • No before-care/after-care. Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer Before Care, After Care or a meal program this summer.

  • All camp fees are non-refundable and may not be used as a credit towards JEI classes/tutoring/workshops. 

  • Full refund upon government-imposed lockdown. 

What to bring:

  • Campers must bring one shoe box on the first day of the program for individual materials/supplies. The shoe box will remain on site and it will be used individually by the participant throughout the duration of the session.

  • Pack these items in a backpack and ensure ALL items are clearly labeled.

    •  Three (3) masks (disposable or reusable) per day in a labelled zip lock bag

    •  Individually packaged peanut/nut-tree lunch (no sharing allowed)

    •  At least two peanut/nut-free snacks (am/pm)

    • Refillable water bottle & extra drinks

    • Bring a pair of indoor shoes to  be worn everyday inside the center

    • Sun hat • Sunscreen (campers must be able to self-apply it) for days we visit Richmond Green. Parents will be notified one-day in advance.
